Pre-appointment tests

Our curated list of tests is designed to seek out the causes of disease and allow us to commence treatment before it can cause harm.

Lipid profile (soon including ApoB and LP(a))

Assesses cardiovascular health and risk for heart disease. High LDL ("bad" cholesterol) and triglycerides can lead to plaque buildup in arteries, while low HDL ("good" cholesterol) can increase cardiovascular risk.

Omega fatty acids ratio (coming soon)

A low balance of Omega-6 and Omega-3 is important for maintaining normal cell and tissue development (homeostasis) and help the  body control inflammation.

Homocysteine
(coming soon)

Rare but if raised can significantly increase the risk of heart attacks, strokes and dementia. Important to check at least once in your life.

LFTs

Evaluates liver health and detects liver disease, which can affect overall well-being.

U&Es

Assesses kidney function and electrolyte balance, crucial for maintaining overall health.

Hba1c

Diagnoses and monitors diabetes and prediabetes, crucial for managing long-term health.Diagnoses land monitors diabetes and prediabetes, crucial for managing long-term health.

Vitamin B12

Essential for nerve function and the production of DNA and red blood cells, impacting energy and cognitive function.

 

Especially at risk of being low in vegetarians and vegans.

Vitamin D

Crucial for bone health, immune function, and overall energy levels

Folate

Important for DNA synthesis and red blood cell production, critical for preventing anaemia

Full Blood Count

Assesses overall health and detects disorders like anaemia, infection, and clotting issues.

Iron profile

Essential for diagnosing iron deficiency anaemia, a common cause of fatigue and low energy.

Thyroid function tests

Abnormal TSH levels can indicate hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, both of which can affect energy levels.

Low FT4 levels can contribute to symptoms of fatigue, weight gain, and depression

Testosterone

Important for male sexual development, muscle mass, and bone density.

Female Reproductive hormones

FSH, LH and Oestradiol - Assesses reproductive health and function and overall hormonal balance
